IM A SLOW BUT NOW LETS GO ALL OUT

Yes I know my Madonna music study is coming.  First 5 random thoughts.

1-I can't believe the Packers shit on the Bears parade.  What a lame ass game.

2-I can't believe Seth Rollins flew in from where ever to go to this game.

3-I can't believe Becky Lynch went with him and actually said go Bears.

4-I can't believe the Miami Dolphins got more for two guys who are not equal to Khali Mack's ability than the Bears got. (This is going to be a long ass season for us Dolphin fans)

5-I can't believe football has started already.  This summer flew by too quick.

Ahhh yes that was fun.  Now onto last weekend.

So I went to my first wrestling show in over 10 years at the Sears Centre in good old Hoffman Estates.  It was All Elite Wrestling's All Out.  One year ago, before AEW, Cody and the Young Bucks worked with Ring of Honor to bring All In, a simple show that the three of them put together to shut down dirt sheet writer Dave Meltzer.  He said they couldn't sell out an area with 10,000 people and the rest as they say was history.

I was very excited because one of my greatest live memories was seeing Chris Jericho's debut on Raw back in 99.  So to see him possibly win the AEW title and be the first champ was so cool to me.  I was very excited to see Jon Moxley as well, but he had to bow out due to injury.  I went with my buddy Jimmy AKA Hawk (who may be one half of a super duper radio podcast thingy we are doing in October) and his son and friend, and had a fabulous time.

The opening battle royale with the women was a little confusing.  I liked the concept of four groups coming out every 5 minutes and then a last person who drew a joker.  I didn't know many of the women on the card, but I knew enough to enjoy it.  Fantastic finish and I love this feud that's developing between the good doctor Britt Baker and Bea Preistly.  The other match during the buy in pre show thing was Private Party vs Jack Evans and Angelico.  Super high energy match and Private Party has some skills yall.

When the event started it was SCU as I expected going up against Jungle Boy (who I just found out is Luke Perry's kid), Luchasaurus, and newly signed Marko Stunt.  It was a cool match, next was Kenny Omega vs Pac (who filled in for Mox) and it was a much slower match than I expected, but I was hyped because it was my first time seeing Kenny live.

The Cracker Barrel clash, a hardcore deathmatch between Jimmy Havok, Darby Allin, and Joey Janela was a car crash that was so fun.  I really loved it and I am not always a fan of hardcore styles. It must have been the barrels.  There was one spot where Havok did a move like a slingshot to Janela, and the chair landed right side up with Janela sitting in it crossing his leg and waving to everone.  Great shit man!!!!

The Dark Order vs Best Friends was up next and I thought this would be the match I didn't care about, but it was a really fun match.  Especially when Orange Cassidy showed up.  This guy never takes his hands out of his pockets.  Even when diving through the ropes onto a group of masked men.  The joshi style match with Riho against Hiraku Shida was a very quick match and I really liked the emotion behind it.  There were stakes as the winner would take on Nyla Rose who won the Casino Battle Royale at the beginning of the night.  I liked it and look forward to seeing these two women more moving forward.

The next match Cody vs Shawn Spears was a great match.  My biggest reservation with AEW is creative.  Cody booking himself to win.  He is undefeated as a singles wrestler at this point and I didn't like that he won the NWA title last year at All In.  I mean I was OK with it at first, but he didn't defend the title as vigorously as Nick Aldis did, who ended up winning the back belt in a couple weeks.  If it was a PR move planned by Billy Corgan, I am OK with it then.  And listening to Chirs Jericho's podcast about how it's not Spears time yet, made me feel better until I saw Jericho gets Cody at next PPV.  More on Jericho in a bit.

The Young Bucks vs the Lucha Brothers easily was the match of the night.  Holy shit what a rollercoaster ride.  This has been talked to death but man that Canadian destroyer off the ladder, holy crap.  Pentagon had his mask taken off.  The tables, the falls, the spots.  It was so crazy.

And then the main event, my man Chris Jericho vs Hangman Page.  The match started slow but I think they had to fight off the hangover from the ladder match.  It left me with such a high it took a couple minutes for me to get back on the horse.  Oh yeah Hangman came to the ring on a fricking horse.  Unreal.  Jericho got the win, I went crazy, night over.

We had a very strange experience at the Wendy's drive thru on the way home but all in all great night with good friends good times.  And we had Georgios Pizza before hand which is the best pizza ever.

I think AEW is going to keep growing and puts on a great show.  It will be a while before they create noise for the WWE, but with them going head to head on Wednesday, it will be fun.

WAIT A MINUTE...I STARTED A BLOG OK 5 RANDOM THOUGHTS

Umm yes, I forgot I did this.  So I guess I have to bring more content.

Beginning every week I will have five random thoughts.  Let's give them to you.

1-The new Slipknot album is absolutely terrific.  I feel like they found their rawness they had on their first two albums and the produced sound of the 2 after.  I absolutely love this album and gives me hope maybe rock may not be dead yet.

2-Wrestling twitter is a hazardous place.

3-School started this week which means Schoolbells Transportation is back in full force.  To get school updates, other helpful tidbits on twitter follow us at @schoolbells2

4-NXT going to USA?  I am intrigued in the possibility of another wrestling war like we had in the 90s when Raw and Nitro went up against each other.

5-My Madonna music study will be done by the end of the week.  Promise.

Until then,

M

FOR ANDREW

The following is a letter I wrote to my drivers:

Hello everyone,

Today was one of the darkest days in the history of the Crystal Lake when 5 year old Andrew Freund was found in a shallow grave right off of Dean St near 176 wrapped up in plastic, and quite frankly didn't have a chance.

I am not writing this to talk about the political and social failures of what happened here.  I am not writing this to condemn the parents who have been accused of murdering their own son.  I am writing this as a special reminder of what we do.  It became crystal clear to me as I followed this story very closely for the last week hoping the boy would pop out but he never did.

We do what we do to make a living of course.  To put food on the table. To pay bills.  To live. But I believe there is a greater purpose.  We help families who are in peril.  Sure there are many special needs situations along with behaviors and other things, but lets not forget that the Mckinney Vento program really helps those who are going through very hard times.  Perhaps a child may have been ripped away from his or her family.  Or maybe a child is watching their family crumble in a divorce.  Or the state has stepped in and made other arrangements.  We give these kids a chance to get to school.  To live a life that may be better than the one they have in their home.  AJ would have been a prime candidate with this program when i read the things going on with his family.

Each one of you is in a position that fills a very important need in a childs life.  We are the first person many of these kids see outside of their homes in the morning before we even go to school.  It is truly a powerful thing.  I know I am always saying don't talk to the kids too much because of liabilities but I know many of you do.  Its hard not to sometimes.  Especially when they seem like they are going through tough times.  You guys are in a powerful spot because you have the ability to help bring positive light to these kids lives.  It's easy to judge, but may of you don't.  It's easy to get frustrated but many of you remain patient.  Just remember other than fulfilling basic needs, think about all the good that comes with doing this kind of work.

I get many compliments about you all and you make me proud for that.  Keep doing what you're doing.

And on another important note, it something seems off.  If your student has cuts and bruises.  If they have mood changes.  if you notice something weird, say something.  Make sure you email me or let me know right away, so we can give these kids a chance.  We need to fight for these kids sometimes because the last thing we need is for anyone to end up like poor Andrew.  Only 5 years old.  Terrible thing.

Thank you for reading and keep up with the great work you all do.  Appreciate it and much love,

Mike

THE CABSTAND IS COMING

So I am getting ready to scratch the itch and begin a podcast called The Cabstand. I will record it from the road during his travels and it will be like an audio log.  It will be very silly and fun but if you're a youngin not your cup of tea maybe.

I have some goals with this, as sometimes it will be serious.  All my Club Huntley/Trax/Community Connection shows are on here as well.  I will also find other radio bits that I did during my time at Huntley Community Radio.  I may produce one mix per month for them as Club Huntley is still on the air Friday nights at 930pm and Saturday nights at 830pm on  101.5 FM on the dial in the Huntley/LITH area, and on the world wide web at www.huntleyradio.com.

Some of the goals will be as follows...

  • Interviews with wrestlers as I love wrestling
  • I want to speak to Mancow Muller regarding his recent plight with Harvest Bible Chapel and how he help to expose something no one expected outside the church walls
  • Things going on in the business of transportation.
  • Provide updates on businesses.
  • Cover hot button items.
  • Talk about my community and speak to people in the area.
  • Have fun
I will begin podcasting from the road tomorrow,  It will be like a vlog format.  Check it out at https://caserno1015.podbean.com/.  It's under the pseudonym Mike da Cabby.  Sometimes if you listen to Busted Open radio you may have heard me call in once or twice.  I went by Mike da Cabby due to the fact I drive customers now, have been in that business over 20 years, and I am just me.  Have the gift of gab and always wanted to make a career of it behind a microphone, but didn't try as hard as I could because my family means more to me.  Check it out tomorrow.

Cheers

Thought 3/5/19

When one domino falls, many follow.

Today during my trials and tribulations I encountered an issue with one of my students.  The mother told us no ride in afternoon, but she was talking about the extra ride we had schedule.  This led to a domino effect of one ride after another having an issue but being the great firefighter I am, I solved the issue.

In the game of life, fires happen all the time.  It is those who have the will and the tenacity to see the fire and are able to put out the blaze that are separated from those who want the firetrucks to save them.

In life the only person you can rely on to save yourself is yourself.

Are you a firefighter or are you a victim?

Thankful for...

Most guys wouldn’t want to walk around home goods with their significant other and watch them
Shop. Me I take joy in watching my wife find things like this and all the other happiness she finds in it. I’m happy to be with her,

Thought 3/4/19

It’s so funny after you participate in a very busy event, it’s like everything is off for you this past weekend both of my girls were involved in a dance competition and it was my youngest first dance competition so I’m super proud of her plus my oldest got second overall in her division so of course I’m very proud of her as well. But fast forward to today I feel so off like my equilibrium is off it’s axis or something.

When you run your own business and have a family balance is a very important key to life. The sad point is despite the fact I know this is my balance is completely off.  I have many responsibilities today for instance the majority of my invoices are due today as well as some other obligations I half to some school districts and I still have to put together the building blocks of my new business watches been doing very well however at the end of the day the most important aspect of life is to make sure that my family drives and that my kids get everything they need not from a materialistic point but They need to know that their mom and dad are both there for them

It’s picture day at my daughter school and my wife and I had to work very hard to get everything in motion today I can’t speak for her but I can say that mentally I feel drained so what will I do I will find someway to achieve balance today and once I do everything will be OK

Cheers

WELCOME

Hello welcome to my page.  This is a creative and personal outlet for myself.  I will talk about many things here.  Events, happenings, fun stuff, etc.

One thing I am working on is a case study of Madonna's music. I have acquired all of her studio albums.  I will write notes and create an essay of everything from her self titled debut to Rebel Heart her last recorded album.  This should be fun.

In the meantime, here is a mix I created.  I have a radio show on Huntley Community Radio called Club Huntley.  Its on Fridays at 930CST and Saturdays at 830CST on 101.5 FM locally and www.huntleyradio.com on the WWW.  Have a listen.

Club Huntley 6/3/16

In the meantime, cheers.
